Betty H. Shinn

Betty H. Shinn, 93, of Parkertown, NJ, passed away on July 25, 2025 at the Residence at Stafford in Manahawkin, NJ surrounded by her family. She was born to Chester and Margaret Holman in Parkertown, NJ, where she remained as a life-long resident. Betty enjoyed sewing, crocheting baby blankets, knitting and reading. Betty was a member of Tuckerton Historical Society and was the oldest and longest living member of Calvary Baptist Church in Parkertown, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Clerk, Financial Secretary and President of the Dorcus Society. Faith was everything to Betty.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and her beloved husband John “Jack” W. Shinn. Betty is survived by her loving family, daughters Peggy Shinn(Ralph Newman), Suzanne O’Connor (Michael), her grandchildren Cara Parker (Woody), Jaiden Schiffel (Justin Kyme), Stephen Clarke III (Bridget), Kaitlyn Johnson (Eric), and great-grandchildren Maggie, Charley, Daniel, Paislee, Evelyn, Isaac, Reid, Bonnie and Cora.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 10-11am with a service beginning at 11am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Burial to follow at West Creek Cemetery at 12:15pm.
