Carolyn R. Santaniello, 56 of Barnegat, NJ passed away at home on Monday August 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born and raised on Staten Island, NY and spent time living in Monroe, NY, Buffalo, NY and Tuckerton, NJ before moving to Barnegat in 2013. Carolyn retired from the New York State Thruway Authority as a Toll Station Manager. Carolyn’s longtime pug companion, Georgie, was a major source of happiness for her. Pugs quickly became the family’s obsession and that obsession has been inherited throughout multiple generations. Family was the most important thing to Carolyn and she dedicated all of her free time supporting and caring for them. She loved when her granddaughter or nieces and nephews, aka “the babies”, would come to visit “Gaga/ KeeCa” and playing with them brought her immense joy. She always knew how to have fun with them and make them laugh. She was a private woman with dignity and grace. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt and she made sure to fulfill her roles to the fullest.
Carolyn was predeceased by her mother Joan L. Roschbach.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Lawrence A. Santaniello, children Joseph Arrabito of Barnegat, NJ, Nicole Izakson and husband Sid of Brooklyn, NY and Robert Santaniello of Toms River, NJ, step-son Nicholas Santaniello of New Windsor, NY, father Robert Roschbach of Staten Island, NY, her granddaughter Carolena Nataley Izakson, brother Darren Roschbach and partner Dawn Corcillo of Staten Island, NY, sisters Joanne Roschbach and partner Walter Cielecki of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Jamie Kasprovitz and husband Phil of Barnegat, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 12, 2021 from 1-3pm with a brief service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to S.N.O.R.T. (Short Noses Only Rescue Team) dog rescue at www.snortrescue.org/make-a-donation
