David Neal Disbrow Jr.

In Memory of David Neal Disbrow, Jr. 6/26/92 – 9/30/21 (age 29)

It is impossible to capture a person as unique as David in an obituary and especially someone who battled addiction throughout most of his adult life. Few knew the magnitude of David’s story. He was so much more than what you saw on the surface. To know David was to love David, and those of us who were able to truly know his heart – have been forever changed.

David was one of a kind, with a larger than life humor and contagious laugh. His eyes and smile just captured you. If you knew David then you knew his love for music was just as important as the air he breathed. But his biggest joy in life came from children- he was always the one to snuggle the babies and play with all the kids. He loved animals and wanted to take home every one he came across.

David relished being a rebel of sorts, a guy who did things his way – a go big or go home guy. You always knew David was there, how he felt, what he enjoyed and even what he didn’t. He had a unique wittiness about him and could and would talk to anyone, no matter the topic. He was fearless and kind-hearted, and had a natural compassion for the underdog. He was the kind of friend who had your back. He loved on others unconditionally and he knew how deeply he was loved in return.

Growing up in Tuckerton, most of David’s time was spent in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, riding quads and had a real talent for sport shooting. David was in his most natural environment hunting with his dad and brother Daniel. He was also a talented and hardworking carpenter by trade.

Throughout David’s struggles he sustained his relationship with and trusted Jesus Christ as his savior. He went through the Addiction Recovery Program at America’s Keswick Colony of Mercy in Whiting, NJ which furthered his relationship with the Lord. David’s life verse, which reflected his story and spoke to his deep-rooted faith, was Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

David is no stranger to second chances so his last gift is one that would have made him very happy; the gift of life to others. David’s major organs were donated to the Gift of Life Donor Program at Southern Ocean Medical Center – giving at least 6 people another chance at life.

David is greatly missed by his parents, David and Jeri, brother Daniel and his girlfriend Kinga. David Jr. is also survived by his longtime girlfriend Melissa and grandparents Harry and Marie Disbrow and George and Judy Binet, along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Our grief over losing David is infinite, yet this is just a slight interruption until we are all together again. Please join us for a memorial celebration of David’s life at Bayside Chapel on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1pm. ALL are welcome. Come as you are...there is a seat for everyone.
