Edward "Eddie" Harry Bennett III

Eddie Bennett, 39, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away suddenly on March 30, 2024. Born in Toms River, Eddie grew up in Tuckerton before moving to Manahawkin. He was a graduate of Pinelands Regional High School Class of 2003, and he attended Delaware Valley College where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with a focus in Sports Management in 2007.

Eddie was preceded in death by his great-grandparents James and Anna Mae Rutter, grandparents Ed and Peggy Bennett, grandmother Jean Gray, aunt Cindy Bennett, cousin Riley Whitus, and uncle Dennis Demyan.

Eddie is survived by his beloved daughter Maddyn Mae Bennett, mother Carol Gray, father Edward H. Bennett Jr. and stepmother Eileen Bennett, sister Erin Bennett, brothers Ryan and Jackson Bennett, niece Giana Gomez, nephew Alex Gomez, grandfather Bob Gray and wife Karen Gray, godfather David Bennett, godmother Linda Gray, stepfather Frank Pullen, girlfriend Carlie Manno, and many additional aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly.

Eddie was always passionate about sports. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Phillies fan, and he loved to play golf and softball. Most of all, he loved to watch his daughter Maddyn dance and play field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. Maddyn was the center of Eddie’s world. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with her.

Eddie will be remembered for his generous and compassionate spirit, brilliant smile, boisterous greetings, strong hugs, and ardent devotion to those he loved. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family and friends, who he cared about deeply. Eddie was a loving father, son, and brother as well as a loyal friend. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church in Parkertown, NJ. Visitors will be received from 10:00am-12:00pm, with the service to begin at 12:00pm.
