Edward L. King

Edward Laurie King, 89 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on May 17, 2023. Born in Queens, NY, Ed lived in Ogdensburg, NJ for 41 years before moving to Little Egg Harbor, NJ 21 years ago. Ed was a Corporal in the US Army and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. Ed had a long and successful career in New York City in the Heating and Boiler industry. He was elected as councilman in Ogdensburg, NJ and a board member at Mystic Shores in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. He served as an usher at St. Thomas of Aquin in Ogdensburg, NJ and was also a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Ed was very artistic and enjoyed painting in a variety of mediums. He liked golf, softball, gardening, and coaching youth sports. He was a big fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers (before they deserted him), the NY Mets, NY Giants, and the NY Rangers.

Ed is predeceased by his parents Mary and Edward, son Gregory, and granddaughter Kelsey Rose.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Marie, daughter Lorraine and husband Jeff, daughter Liz and husband Chris, daughter Patty and husband Ernie, son Teddy and wife Nora, brother Stephen and wife Dorothy, grandson Jarred and wife Tiffanie, grandson Andrew and wife Tory, granddaughter Ryan Marie, granddaughter Ashlee and husband Ryan, grandson Benjamin Edward, grandson Gregory and wife Brook, grandson Kelly, grandson Finley, great grandchildren Conlan Edward, Gareth, Adalee, Reilly, Quinn Marie, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday May 22 2023 from 10-11am at St. Theresa’s Church 450 Radio Road Little Egg Harbor NJ. Mass will follow at 11am. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ed’s name to a charity of your choice.
