Evelyn Clara Brown

Evelyn Clara Brown “Evie” 93 of Parkertown, NJ passed away on Friday July 25, 2025. Evie was the granddaughter of Oscar and Clara Letts who started St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Waretown, NJ. She was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Tuckerton, NJ since it opened in Mrs. White’s house in 1947. She worked in the cafeteria at Pinelands High School for 18 years and at Eagleswood Elementary School for 12 years. She was vice president and member of the LEH PTA and vice president and member of Parkertown Fire Ladies.

Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Floyd W. Brown in 1991 and her sisters Dot Pharo and Ruthie Sprague.

She is survived by her loving children, daughter Diane Matlack and husband Bill, son Joseph W. Brown, grandchildren Jake Brown and Danielle Resciniti and husband Vinnie, great granddaughters Delilah and Lily, best friend Shirley Baylor, Joe Laplaca and family as well as many other family and friends.

Viewing hours will be held on Saturday August 2, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will also be on Saturday at 11:30am at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church 220 E. Main Street Tuckerton, NJ 08087 followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Tuckerton.
