Frank Fernandez, 93, passed away on April 2, 2021 in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Born in Hackensack, Mr. Fernandez served with the military police in Japan after World War II and he recalled many of the people and his experiences there. In 1954, Mr. Fernandez married the former Helen Booth, also of Hackensack . They adopted two children. Mr. Fernandez gained great satisfaction through his career with the National Federation of Colombian Coffee Growers and he was active in the First Dutch Reformed Church in Hackensack and the Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church. An avid reader, his book collections included two sets of Louis L’Amour westerns. In the 1980s, Mr. Fernandez retired to Little Egg Harbor with Helen and focused on stamp collecting. He lived out his final years at Mystic Meadows. He is predeceased by wife Helen; his daughter, Adele; sister Delores Winter, and brother George. Survivors include son, Bob Fernandez, and his wife, Mae.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 7, 2021 from 2:00pm until his Funeral Service at 2:45pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Burial will be on Thursday April 8, 2021 at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
