Iris Gibney

Iris Gibney, 79 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Sunday August 22, 2021. Iris was exceptionally warm, generous, and loving. She will missed by all who knew her.  Born in Bronx, NY and raised in Teaneck, NJ.  She lived in North Jersey before moving to Little Egg Harbor 18 years ago.  Iris worked as a court secretary for the NJ State Court System.  She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Sunrise Bay Women’s Club.   

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Henry Gibney, son Jason Shafron of Oakland, NJ, daughter Melanie Shafron of Las Vegas, NV, step-sons Joe and Paul Gibney, brother and sister-in-law Ira and Lucia Weinryb, nieces Rachel and Rose, and grandchildren Chelsea, Noah, Ezra, Joe and Kyle. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 9:30am to 12:00pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.  Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Brig. Gen. Wm C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
