Jean P Berberich

The family of Jean P. Berberich of Little Egg Harbor, NJ is saddened to announce her passing on July 8, 2026 at the age of 83. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Jean grew up in Linden and moved to Barnegat in 1974. Jean briefly lived in Florida and later settled in Little Egg Harbor in 2010. Jean was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Little Egg Harbor. Her faith allowed her to courageously battle ALS. Each morning she prayed for all those that touched her life and remained positive no matter what life was dealing her. After only one conversation with Jean, you couldn't help but want to be her friend. She enjoyed working as a bank teller and most recently as a cashier at Walgreens. To know Jean was to love Jean.

Jean was a devoted wife of 63 years to Joseph, and is now lovingly reunited with her Honey. She lived simply; she valued spending time with her family, sitting outside with her dogs, journaling and reading.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Helen Melcarski. 

She is survived by her loving children, Christine Berberich of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Wayne Berberich and wife Ellen of FL and Robert Berberich of Toms River, NJ; brother, Joseph Melcarski of FL; brother-in-law, Dennis Berberich of FL; grandchildren, Joshua, Tara, Lauren, Jonathan, Anthony, and Kaela; great-grandchildren, Edward and Jameson; her Cuz, Marie and BFF, Carol. 

Cremation will be private. A funeral mass will be held August 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ followed by an interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 283 Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ.
