Julia M. (Scatassa) Ronda, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on September 11th, 2026.
Julia was born on September 16th,1947 in Rimini, Italy to Ezio and Lina Scatassa.
At age 10 Julia moved to the United States and settled in Westwood, New Jersey with her family. After graduating from Emerson High School, she attended Parisian Beauty School and became a licensed beautician.
On September 15, 1968, Julia married Charles Ronda. The couple moved to Manahawkin, New Jersey and had three children, Andrea, Michelle, and Christopher. From the age of 19, Julia was a hairdresser and took pride in the work she did. When she wasn’t giving haircuts and perms, you could find her stocking magazines and making conversation with shoppers all around Manahawkin and Barnegat.
Julia always enjoyed spending her time with family, and you could find her taking pictures and videos at every gathering. She loved to listen to music, especially the Beatles, and could even be persuaded to play a song on the piano from time to time. When she wasn’t with family, her favorite thing to do was play cards and talk with her friends.
Her later years were filled with time around friends and family, helping people, trips to local festivals and events with Martita, getting her nails done by her granddaughter, and a lot of dancing.
Julia is survived by her three children Andrea Foster (Hank Foster), Michelle Pierson (Dave Pierson), Chris Ronda (Amanda Ronda), and her six grandchildren, Hank, Thomas, Mya, Ashley, Ava, and Ben. Her brothers Vittorio Scatassa (Eva Scatassa), Joseph Scatassa (Paulette Scatassa) and her nieces and nephews Joanne, Nicholas, Gina, Lisa and Joseph.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Julia at 12:00 pm on September 16th at St. Mary’s Church at 747 West Bay Ave. Barnegat, NJ 08005. Burial will follow next to her husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manahawkin.
