Kathleen Muso

Kathleen Muso, 65, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Kathleen was born in Jersey City, NJ, and spent many years living in Little Egg Harbor before moving to Whiting two years ago.

Kathleen spent much of her life caring for others. She worked as a nurse’s assistant for Bacharach, AtlantiCare, and Southern Ocean Medical Center before retiring. She had a natural way of making people feel cared for, and she will be remembered for her big heart, wonderful sense of humor, and the laughter she brought wherever she went.

Kathleen loved to joke, laugh, cook, and spend time with the people she loved. But more than anything in this world, she loved being a grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Brooke. Brooke was truly the light of Kathleen’s life. Their bond was incredibly special, and Kathleen treasured every moment they shared.

Kathleen was so proud of Brooke and loved watching her grow. Kathleen was predeceased by her father, Joseph Muso, and her sister, Kim Muso.

She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Kemmler of Byram Township, NJ, and daughter Rebecca Muso and her fiancé, Austin Laney, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; her cherished granddaughter, Brooke Laney, age 10, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; her fiancé of 16 years, Deon Worthy, of Whiting, NJ; her siblings, Jeff Muso, Debbie Muso, Mark Muso, Ralph Muso, Rich Muso, Darren Muso, Scott Muso, Anthony Muso, Todd Muso, and Glenn Muso; as well as many nieces, nephews, and numerous cherished friends.

Kathleen leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. To her family and friends, she will always be remembered for her ability to make people laugh and the warmth she brought into their lives. Her greatest legacy will not be measured in years, but in the love she gave and the memories she created with the people who meant the most to her. Kathleen will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until her Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be private.
