Sarah M Leonardis

Sarah M. Leonardis, 91, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 19, 2026. Sarah was born and raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ until settling in Little Egg Harbor eighteen years ago. Sarah was a dedicated homemaker and spent time working as a teacher's aide at Wilson Avenue School. She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Little Egg Harbor. She liked going to Atlantic City, playing bingo and playing cards. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary Ferdinando, her husband of 72 years, Albert "Chick" Leonardis, and brothers Peter (Marie) and Louie Ferdinando.

She is survived by her sister Betty Russo of Shore Acres, NJ, sister-in-law Joan Ferdinando of Forked River, NJ, her loving children, Albert (Kathy) Leonardis of Barnegat, NJ and Rosemary Moreira of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, grandchildren Jillian, Danielle (John), Albert and Nicole (Todd), great-grandchildren Olivia, Gianna, Rosemary and Sophia, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 22nd, 2026 from 3-7pm and on Tuesday June 23rd, 2026 from 9:30-10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 1670 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday June 23rd, 2026 at 11am at St. Theresa’s Church 450 Radio Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087 followed by burial next to her husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin, NJ.
