Stacey Ann Whitley

Stacey Ann Whitley, 56, of Mystic Island, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Stacey was a beautiful soul — fiercely intelligent, deeply loving, and full of quiet strength. Her sharp mind and natural curiosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, and her teachers at Saint Basil’s Academy often praised her brilliance.

Stacey is survived by her loving father, Stephen Whitley; her devoted brother, Stephen Whitley, fiancé Janet and her daughter Alexis; and Stacey’s adoring niece, Stephanie Whitley — along with extended family and dear friends who will carry her memory forward with love. Her father dedicated his life and purpose to caring for Stacey and remained faithfully by her side throughout her journey. Her loving brother and niece supported her however they could — from treatment to comfort — always making sure she had everything she needed to feel loved and at peace during these difficult times. Stacey's positive spirit, even in the face of adversity, inspired those around her.

Stacey found joy in life’s simple moments — fishing with her father, watching the sun rise over the bay from her home, and answering every Jeopardy! question with ease. She was a proud fan of the Grateful Dead and shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Superman, whom she was a devoted cat mom.

Though her time here feels too short, Stacey’s gentle heart, fierce loyalty, and quiet wisdom will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.

A private memorial will be held by the family. In her honor, we invite you to light a candle, play a Grateful Dead song, and carry her memory with peace and love.
