Steven J Bender

Steven J. Bender, 72, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Wednesday February 25,2026. Born in Orange, NJ Steven grew up in Iselin, NJ and resided in Edison, NJ before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1994. Steven was a member of the MICA club and volunteered for the Little Egg Harbor police department as well as the Little Egg Harbor volunteer fire department/EMS. He enjoyed being on the water, fishing, boating, and drawing. Now he can enjoy running around in Heavens fields with all of his dogs that he loved so much.

Steven was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Bender.

He is survived by his sister Donna Wimberley (Griffin) of Kildeer, IL, brother John Bender of Little Egg Harbor, sister Joan Eckensberger (Randy) of Jacksonville, FL, cousins Randy, Billy, Bobby and Liz Thompson, nephews Jay Wimberley, Shawn and Jarod Eckensberger and niece Nicole Spanbauer. He is also survived by his good friend of over 40 years Eva DiMarcantonio, his friend Austin Genzano and his long time neighbors Rich and Gen and Gail and Bill, as well as many others too numerous to name.

Cremation will be private. A Celebration of Life will take place shortly. Please check back for details.
