William Thomas Fitzgerald

William “Bill” Thomas Fitzgerald, 89, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by family, on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Proudly born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Bill later lived in Old Bridge, NJ, before settling in Little Egg Harbor eight years ago.

A proud veteran, Bill served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps before building a successful career in advertising. He was a talented artist who loved painting and illustration, nurtured a passion for gardening, and was an avid golfer—once even achieving a hole-in-one. But the role that defined him most deeply, and the one he loved the most, was family. Bill’s heart was always with them. His greatest pride, his greatest legacy, and his greatest joy was being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His love was steady, certain, and unconditional.

Bill was predeceased by his parents John and Catherine Fitzgerald, and brothers Jack and Bobby Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Patricia Jebsen Fitzgerald, sons William “Bill” Fitzgerald and wife Kathleen of Little Egg Harbor, and Eric Fitzgerald and wife Kate of Belvidere, NJ. Also surviving are his sisters Gerry, Patty and Cathy, grandchildren Ryan, Sean, Ian, Braedan, Kaleb, Quinn, Andrea, Katlyn, Kyle, Eric and great grandchildren Maisie and more on the way.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 1-3pm and 6-9pm at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087 with a funeral service beginning at 730pm.
