Florence Taylor

July 21, 1930 — May 25, 2021

Florence Taylor

On May 25, 2021, Florence Taylor of Little Egg Harbor went home to her Lord after giving all the love her heart had to give here on earth.

Florence Griffiths Dahms Taylor was born July 21, 1930 to Edna and Griffith Griffiths in Philadelphia, PA.  She was the 9th of 10 children.  As a girl, Flossy, as she was known to her friends and family, enjoyed ice skating, roller skating, dancing and swimming, especially at the beach.  She married Charles Dahms Sr. in 1949 and is survived by her children Charles Dahms Jr., Linda (Peter) Kobilnyk, Donna (Lee) Smith, Trudy (John) Sanabor, Sandra Cosenza (Steve Forst) and Patricia (Steve) Meskill, as well as 43 grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, nieces Roberta Grandinelli, Elizabeth Green, additional nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Flossy worked hard all her life at various jobs to provide for her family and frequently went without so her children could have what they needed.  She made the lemons that life gave her into the sweetest lemonade.  Flossy enjoyed the simple things in life.  She loved sitting at the beach watching sunrises and sunsets, watching birds and other wildlife, and the beauty of all seasons.  She had a green thumb, famously known for raising African violets and bringing plants back to life.  She was tough as nails but at the same time very sweet, loving and generous, especially to her 43 grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she always remembered by sending cards on their birthdays.

She loved yard sales and finding little treasures that she would share with others.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music by one of her favorite bands, Pink Floyd.

Flossy was active in volunteering in her community and at her residence at Park Plaza Apartments in Little Egg Harbor where she lived for 20 years, leaving behind many friends.

Her spirit, generosity and kind heart live on in all she touched.
