Jane E Slater

Jane E. Slater, 77 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Sunday July 18, 2021.  Born in Vallejo, CA she was raised and lived in Monticello, NY before moving to Little Egg Harbor 36 years ago.  Jane worked as an English teacher and Reading Specialist at Pinelands Regional High School.  After retiring from teaching she founded the Reading Remedy in Brick, NJ and spent many years helping people overcome challenges with reading.  

Jane was well known for her love of animals, especially her rescue greyhounds and was often seen walking them around town.  She enjoyed travelling, reading and pursued volunteer activities. 

Jane is survived by her son Gary Slater, his wife May, granddaughters Amalya and Eliana, her dog Mica and lovebirds Tweeter and Jewel. 

Visitation will be held on Friday July 30, 2021 from 1:00pm until her Memorial Service at 2:30pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
