Joseph McIlroy

Joseph McIlroy, 82 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Tuesday March 16, 2021.  Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he lived in New York prior to moving to Little Egg Harbor, NJ.  Joseph was a professional soccer player in Northern Ireland before moving to the United States and becoming a Fireman with the NY Fire Department, Engine Company 201 in Brooklyn.  He also spent countless hours volunteering at ground zero during 9/11 and he served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jessie McIlroy and oldest sister, Norma Alford.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Haddock.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 8, 2021 from 12noon until the Funeral Service at 1pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087
